Terms of service
ShipTally is a decision-support and workflow service. The user remains responsible for the goods facts, customs declaration and commercial decisions.
Free and paid services
ShipTally provides public tools and paid account features. Paid plans can include document extraction, multi-line workspaces, saved shipment records and higher usage limits. Current plan features and prices are shown on the Pricing page.
Classification and tariff data
Natural-language classification results are candidates, not binding tariff decisions. A search score is not the probability that a code is legally correct. Users must check the actual goods, tariff hierarchy, notes, conditions and relevant evidence. HMRC remains the source for UK tariff data used by the live workflow.
Document Intelligence
Invoice extraction uses automated document analysis. Extraction can misread descriptions, codes, origins, quantities or values. A supplied or suggested commodity code must be reviewed before use. ShipTally deliberately keeps unresolved lines in a review state where important product facts are missing.
DAP, DDP and clearance arrangements
Commercial shorthand such as “DAP cleared” may describe who arranged or paid a customs-entry service. It is not treated by ShipTally as a separate official Incoterms® rule. Clearance administration, importer status, duty liability and import VAT responsibility are recorded separately from the Incoterm.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions renew until cancelled. The payment provider's hosted checkout and customer portal are used for payment and subscription management when billing is active. Cancellation stops future renewal in accordance with the billing-period rules shown at checkout; access can continue to the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated.
Usage limits and fair use
Paid features can have line, document-page or batch limits. Automated abuse, credential sharing, scraping or attempts to circumvent service limits may be blocked.
Availability and changes
External services including HMRC, hosting, payment and document-intelligence providers can be unavailable. ShipTally may correct errors, alter features or change plan limits/prices prospectively. Material subscription changes will be communicated through the service or account contact where appropriate.
Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, ShipTally is not responsible for customs duty, VAT, penalties, delays, lost margin or other losses caused by inaccurate user inputs, unverified classification, external-service data or a failure to obtain transaction-specific professional/official confirmation where required.
Operator details
The paid service must not be activated until the operator's required legal/business particulars are configured and displayed at checkout. Contact: hello@shiptally.co.uk.
